ResearchONequine will be Ontario’s hub for equine research collaboration and networking by showcasing bold scientific discoveries and promoting equine research education and outreach.

Support

ResearchONequine is the creation of the Ontario Animal Health Network (OAHN) equine network and is graciously sponsored by the OAHN and the Ontario Association of Equine Practitioners (OAEP).

What is the OAHN equine network?

The Ontario Animal Health Network (OAHN) is a collaborative animal health network comprised of species-specific expert networks.  Business Objectives of OAHN are to:

• Provide a communications hub/platform for topics concerning animal health and welfare issues within Ontario;
• Identify existing or emerging animal health and welfare issues and trends; and
• Contribute expertise to prevention, detection and timely response activities.

Participants include the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), University of Guelph’s Animal Health Laboratory and the Ontario Veterinary College, private veterinarians, and industry.

The OAHN equine network is a dedicated group of veterinarians from primary care practices, academia, government and laboratories, who meet quarterly to discuss equine disease and health issues to improve the health of Ontario’s horses.

What is the OAEP?

The Ontario Association of Equine Practitioners is a professional veterinary association committed to the health and welfare of horses and to providing leadership within the equine community. The Association’s mission is to facilitate communication and collegiality among equine practitioners in Ontario, support continuing education for equine veterinarians, and provide a link between equine clinical practice, academia, industry, media, government and the community.
